2020 update!

Posted by on

Hello, Michelle here!

The start of a new year is always a time for reflection, and over the last few weeks I have spent time recharging, reconnecting and reflecting on my goals and plans for 2020.

Last year, I started work on improving the size range for Pearson and Pope patterns. I have now had to push back the original timing of the release of the first new pattern in the new size range, but it is definitely still at the top of my agenda and an active work in progress.

In the meantime, I'm excited to announce two things!:

  • First, I will soon be releasing Pearson and Pope's bodice block as a separate pattern. This is a basic block from which you can create sleeved and sleeveless tops, dresses and (with further ease) even jackets or coats - and it's available in the new size range! Over time, I will share tutorials showing how you can draft various garments from the block pattern. There will also be more content about sewing techniques, opinions and resources for sewing your own workwear.

  • Second, as of 1 February 2020, our existing Pearson and Pope patterns are now available free of charge! I have very much enjoyed sharing my patterns and have very much appreciated all the support from the sewing community. This is a small way to say thank you to that community and to do something small that might inspire more people to sew amazing workwear wardrobes! (EDIT 5th March 2020: this offer has now ended, as our Agnes skirt update will be released this month in the new size range - but our mailing list subscribers will receive a discount code for that release!)

Thank you for reading! I’d love to know what you think, so please feel free to comment below!

  • It is not often, in the sewing world, that customers are able to get such wonderful, classic patterns for free. Thank you so much for doing this!
